[ Technical Textiles - Buildtech - It's Israel Again -A high-rise escape system By Molly Livingstone.]

High-rise buildings are a well-known target for terrorists, but in an emergency, people trapped in the building can only really on emergency stairwells to make their escape. Six-year-old Israeli company, Escape Rescue Systems, has developed a revolutionary external evacuation system that can help rescue people caught inside a skyscraper. The safe and efficient system, already in use in a 21 story building in Israel, relies on collapsible cabins, which are stored on the roof. In an emergency these cabins can take 30 people down to ground level, on the outside of a building, every eight minutes. They can also deliver swat teams and emergency rescue personnel to where they are needed most.
