Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar honored with “Top Twenty Under 40 Award” in Lubbock, TX, USA. Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar, who serves as the Co-Chairman of the USA based INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry’s India committee has been recognized by Lubbock, USA -Lubbock based Young Professionals of Greater Lubbock as one of the Top 20 under 40 Young Professionals.
Dr. Ramkumar is the only one in the group of 20 who is of Indian origin. He was recognized in Lubbock, USA on October 25, 2007. Dr. Ramkumar's achievements in inventing a new nonwoven military wipe and organizing Indo-US collaborative conferences were duly recognized with this award.
Lubbock, USA based Young Professionals of Greater Lubbock has for the First Time honored 20 young people who are under the age of 40. Who have excelled themselves in their profession and have contributed to the society at large.
Dr. Ramkumar, since 2004 has been making efforts to bridge India and USA to grow the Nonwoven and Technical Textile industry base in India Since 2004, he annually conducts international conferences in India to enhance the profile of India in Technical Textiles field.
Dr. Ramkumar has invented a new military fabric for which he has received wide international recognition. He is quite active in India and serves as a good ambassador by promoting research, exchanges and conferences between India and USA. This conference endeavored to create awareness on the new emerging field of Technical Textiles in India. Honorable Shri. Shankersinh Vaghela, Central Minister for Textiles and Honorable Shri. E.V.K.S. Elangovan, Central Minister of State for Textiles inaugurated the conference which attracted 300 participants.
Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar is currently an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University, USA. He frequently visits India and conducts conferences and collaborates with many academic institutions in India.
