The Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry recognized Eastern Engineering Company as one of the 4 firms for the achievements in the Indo Italian business community. The other 3 multinational companies were Carro India, Ferrero India and Ognibene India.

On this occasion, the Consul General of Italy,Ms. Stefania Costanza presented Mr.R.Anand with an award for his contribution to the textile and engineering industry.

The EOU scheme was among the reform policies that facilitated the rise of new companies and, new ideas within established organizations.

Italian textile machinery manufacturers greatly benefited from this association with Eastern as the company, was instrumental in bringing India's first 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) with equipment from blow room to ring frame from Italy to India. 

Thereafter, they were followed by Italian companies in the fields of processing, finishing and worsted spinning,who set up units here.

It is in recognition of the enduring nature of this work that Eastern Engineering Company was conferred the award.
