Do we have a Research Institute doing research in technical textile( I don't think so)
Do we have a textile mill producing technical textile, yarn or fabrics( We do ).
What are their production products like,
Are they making floor carpets,
Geo textiles for soil engineers.
Filter fabrics(Nonwoven) for dust and liquid filtering.
This is not a recent development but it was over 20 years ago, A Textile Magnet who made this a feather in our cap,which he had planned .I am proud of this man who has put our country on the map of technical textiles.May be few more are there,I hope they diverse in to better products and upgrade there plants,for production of technical textile fabrics for Hospital use which has a high priority in our country.
My thinking is,that we need proper Infrastructure to start with.A research center with university level education up to PhD.May be our finance minister will make a provision in his post budget as a gift to this industry and we might end up with a plant in his home state.
A plant to produce artificial grass perhaps will be cheaper than what we are importing to be used in our Sports stadiums.
A well established Research and Development center having the following facilities is a priority for going all out in technical textiles:

New technology for manufacturing.

Must be a State of the Art laboratory with facilities and methodologies for product testing,process monitoring services and quality control in support of a wide range of Industries to provide technical data for quality control,product grading,purchase decisions,litigation support and forensics.
