Medical Bands
Next generation fiber optic medical bands are the new standard for use in medical imaging processes.
CT and MRI scanning processes can be extremely susceptible to metallic interference. Traditional copper wire bands are being replaced with Woven Electronics high-conductivity fiber. Woven's LifeBand monitors heart rate, rhythm, and body temperature while operating without impeding scanning processes. The revolutionary LifeShirt measures heart rate and rhythm, body temperature, respiration, and perspiration - a reusable, wearable health system engineered for mobility and performance.

Military.
Woven Electronics' military division specializes in designing and manufacturing cable harnesses to meet the emerging demands for higher density, lighter weight and increased signal isolation. As the originator and leader of woven cable, Woven Electronics offers a total interconnect package from the engineering and design of the basic cable to the integration of PC boards, over-molded cables and backshells and mechanical backshells. With this multi-packaging ability, the woven organized wiring approach reduces cost and weight, which enables maintainability for airborne applications and any cable where size and weight are of importance.
Technicians in the military plant are trained to the highest solder specifications and are judged by the most stringent quality requirements. These talents can be applied to other packaging technologies, as well, if the customer or application demand.
Woven Electronics can support your requirements to AS-5088.
Woven Construction Advantages:
Less volume than conventional harnesses.
More routable and flexible, which enhances the installation phase.
More producible, consistent wire placement and physical size.
Configurations are exactly repeatable.
Changes in design are far easier, which reduces development costs.
How others have taken advantage of Woven's Military Division....
Woven organized wiring systems have been widely used in a variety of custom applications, including the weapons launching system found in the Los Angeles Class Submarines and the missile launching system for both the Tomahawk and the Standard Missile used by the U.S. Navy. So, if you have a unique wiring application where you need a high performance, highly flexible wiring solution that reduces overall cost and makes installation and maintenance easier, let us show you how our Organized.
Wiring Systems can work for you.

A WONDER A DAY

Nanofibre coatings on titanium aid muscle growth.
University of Arkansas researchers in the US have found a simple, inexpensive way to create a nanowire coating on the surface of biocompatible titanium that can be used to create more effective surfaces for hip replacement, dental reconstruction and vascular stenting. The material can easily be sterilized using ultraviolet light and water, or using ethanol.
