A new thermoformable yarn received the Techtextil 2009 Innovation Prize for New Materials Jointly developed by Massebeuf Textiles of France and Luxilon Industries of Belgium, the yarn, which can be used on standard knitting, weaving or braiding machines, becomes thermofomable when heated for around a minute at 65°C, and stiffens as it cools down again. It can be reshaped by the reintroduction of the heat source.
